About WASDL tournament text messages
The Washington Area Speech and Debate League (WASDL) sends text messages to coaches, judges and tournament participants to support the operation of our tournaments. Messages include judge assignments and reminders, schedule changes, delays, room changes, and replies to questions or issues you report. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
Messages may be sent through systems operated by WASDL's service providers or support partners, acting on WASDL's behalf and only to support WASDL's tournaments.
How you agree to receive texts
- Judges: by providing your mobile number when you register to judge at a WASDL tournament.
- Coaches and school representatives: by providing your mobile number to WASDL as the coach or representative of a member school.
- Anyone: by checking the “Text me about my inquiry” box on our contact form, or by texting a WASDL tournament support number. In that case we reply only about your message.
Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of joining WASDL or judging.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies and is usually highest on tournament days. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
How to stop texts or get help
- Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one confirmation, and no further texts unless you opt in again.
- Reply HELP for help, or email president@wacfl.org.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
